The profit of China steel industry amounted to RMB 169.95 billion in 2006, up RMB 39.758 billion with a growth rate of 30.6% year-on-year, which was the highest level in recent years. The domestic steel market had a good beginning in the year of 2007. The profit of the steel industry increased 3.6 times in January and February from a year earlier, and it is forecasted that the profit of steel industry in 2007 will maintain the steady increase compared to 2006.
