China is still in the stage that its industries, including heavy chemical industry, power, building materials and steel, are developing rapidly. These raw materials and energy industries not only incur heavy pollutionbut also generate a great deal of dust and soot. Therefore, China has a huge potential market for dedusting equipment.

Dedusting equipment mainly includes electric dust catcher, pocket dust collector, centrifugal dust separator and wet dust collector. Among which, electrostatic precipitator or ESP, is extensively applied in such industries as metallurgy (heavy metal recycling), power (heating), building materials (cement), chemical and paper making by virtue of its high-efficiency purification, small loss resistance, completely automatic control, good heat-resistant performance and strong ability to purify large amount of gas, which is, so far, still in a dominant position in environment protection market.

In 2006, sales of only twenty electric dedusting companies reached about CNY7.91 billion and their export contract value amounted to CNY853.99 million. Sales of seven power source companies reached CNY279.48 million (excluding Fujian Long King Co., Ltd.) and their export contract value amounted to CNY17.74 million. In the year of 2006, sales of China’s electric dedusting industry stood at CNY10 billion and its contract value hit CNY11 billion to CNY11.5 billion, while its export value broke the mark of CNY1 billion for the first time. In the year of 2007, sales of China’s electric dedusting industry reached CNY12.722 billion, up 27.22% year on year and its export contract value kept stable increase continuously.

The report is based on authoritative statistics from the General Administration of Customs, the State Information Center and the National Bureau of Statistics and information from dedusting industry associations. Part of the statistics from key enterprises is based on the companies’ financial statements.
